To provide participants with a practical framework to understand their coaching role and to develop some of the skills necessary to be an effective coach. It assumes coaches have a "hands on" role and may be involved in resolving performance problems in their team or with colleagues.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand their role as coach
- Understand some of the factors that affect how people learn
- Identify learning needs
- Set learning objectives
- Put together a coaching plan
- Run a coaching session to coach someone through a problem area
- Follow up and evaluate coaching
